Inlet Wants You! To help do it again for the record

One Square Mile of Hope Committee member Adele Burnett reports that boat registrations for the Saturday, September 24 attempt to break the Guiness Book of World Record for largest floating raft formation, have surpassed the 1,000 mark.

So far participants from Canada and 11 states—including Florida and Texas—have already registered, and the committee anticipates a surge in registrations as they edge closer to the event. Continue reading

One Square Mile of Hope: Inlet looking to reestablish world record

The little village of Inlet, population 320, is about to take on the big city of Pittsburgh, PA.

Right off the shoreline of Fourth Lake, on Saturday, September 24, thousands of paddlers will try to win back the record for the world’s largest floating raft of canoes and kayaks.

Pittsburgh, with a population 420,000, won the title last year. Continue reading
