Once again, the Eagle Bay Volunteer Hose Co. Inc. is pleased to announce that Billy’s Italian-American Restaurant will be holding a Charity Benefit for the Eagle Bay Fire Department and will donate 20% of ALL SALES, including take-outs, for that evening to our fire department.  Continue reading

Eagle Bay tree lighting slated

The Eagle Bay Tree Lighting ceremony will take place at the new Welcome Center at the corner of Route 28 and Big Moose Rd. on Saturday, December 7 at 5:30 p.m.

Christmas caroling around the community Christmas tree will be followed by the tree lighting. Once the tree is lit, all are invited to enjoy refreshments and bring a dish to pass for a pot luck supper at the Eagle Bay Fire Hall.

Beautification meeting set at Eagle Bay

A meeting to discuss beautification projects in the village of Eagle Bay will be held at the Eagle Bay Fire Hall on Saturday, October 12 from 9 to 10 a.m. The gathering will be hosted by Eagle Bay Park residents Deb and John Barry. All are welcome to come and share their ideas on how to further enhance the look of the village.

Eagle Bay sets tree lighting for December 3

The Eagle Bay Fire Department will host a Tree Lighting Party on Saturday, December 3, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary and the Town of Webb.

The event will begin with caroling and the community Christmas Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. at the corner of Big Moose Rd. and Route 28.

Following the tree lighting, all are invited to bring a dish to pass and enjoy an evening with friends and neighbors. Soups, food, and desserts will be provided. Santa will be making an appearance to bring Christmas gifts for the young kids.

Eagle Bay Turkey Party returning to Fire Hall, Saturday, Nov. 12th

The Eagle Bay Fire Department Turkey Party, sponsored by the Eagle Bay Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, will be returning on Saturday, November 12 at 7 p.m.

The annual Fall event will be held at the Eagle Bay Fire Hall on Route 28 in Eagle Bay. Lots of turkeys will be raffled and there will be many door prizes and 50/50 raffles. Donuts, popcorn and other refreshments will be available. All are welcome.

Eagle Bay restrooms project on hold pending state permits

Phase two of the multi-phase TOBIE Trail project includes the construction of public restrooms and a distribution area for informational materials and brochures on the site of the former Thibado Garage and Service Station in Eagle Bay. Continue reading

Eagle Bay’s Ruth LeFevere, 87, passes away

Ruth Christman LeFevre, 87, of Eagle Bay, has returned home to God. Ruth passed away peacefully on September 9, 2011 at the Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville, NY.

Ruth was born on September 1, 1924 and she was joined in marriage to Elton LeFevre on October 12, 1957.

Ruth was a graduate of Hartwick College and spent many years working in the banking industry.

She was best known locally for Ruth’s Yarn Barn which she owned and operated in Eagle Bay.  She was an avid knitter and could knit anything from mittens to afghans, sweaters to baby clothes.  Continue reading
