Town of Webb Board of Education holds March 15th meeting

The Town of Webb UFSD Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, March 15, where it reviewed the following information. This content is a summary does not represent approved minutes and is provided by the Town of Webb UFSD for publication.

Reviewed the Special Education Statistical Update as provided by Mary Starring, School Psychologist/CSE Chair.

The Board discussed the 2016-2017 Budget Revenue and Fund Balance.

Approved the Minutes of the March 1, 2016 meeting.

James Carnell enjoys sports, planning on restaurant chef career

Town of Webb senior, James Carnell, 17, started at the Town of Webb school, from the Inlet Common school, in the seventh grade.

He has lived in Inlet all his life.

James said he has decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a chef in the Old Forge area.

“My dad has been a chef most of his life—I guess it rubbed off on me,” he said. Continue reading →

Town of Webb school senior Cy Barkauskas, 18, moved from Poland to Old Forge during his kindergarten year.

Being a big sports enthusiast, Cy said he is planning on studying Sports Management or Physical Education after graduation in June.

Cy said St. Bonaventure, SUNY Cortland and Ithaca College are his top three choices to attend in the fall. Continue reading →

Winners and Honorable Mentions of the Old Forge Library’s “Boundaries” Poetry and Illustration Contest were announced in front of a capacity crowd at an opening exhibit reception held at the library on Tuesday, March 15th.

The contest was open to residents of Herkimer, Oneida and Madison Counties and the Town of Inlet with contestants following the theme of “Boundaries.”  Continue reading →
