Light snowfall, thaw conditions force early closure of area snowmobile trails

The Town of Webb Snowmobile Trail System was officially closed for the season Thursday, March 10, 2016.

Normally, the season runs from early December until the end of March. However, lack of snow this season delayed riding until mid-January, and conditions have recently deteriorated severely, according to Town of Webb Tourism Director. Continue reading

Alex McGill named to Vice Pres. List at Mohawk Valley

Alexander McGill, a first-year student at Mohawk Valley Community College, was named to the Vice Presidents List for the Fall 2015 semester for achieving a grade point average of 3.5.

Alex is a 2015 graduate of Town of Webb School and the son of Matt and Amanda Miller of Inlet.

VIEW: Youth musical theater dance classes return

Due to popular demand, Musical Theater Dance Classes for students ages 8 to 12 are now an ongoing weekly event at VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge.

Classes will be held on most Fridays from March through June from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The classes are designed to help students reach their fullest potential by sharpening their acting, singing, and dancing abilities.   Continue reading

Town of Webb Justice Court receives $15K assistance grant

Justice Patrick Venetz was recently notified by the Chief Administrative Judge for the Fifth Judicial District, Hon. James C. Tormey, that Webb Town Court has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the New York State Justice Courts Assistance Program (JCAP).  Continue reading
