The Senior Health Activities & Recreation Program (SHARP) often enjoys conducting its program at Lakeside Terrace. This is easier for many of our participants, since they live in the apartments there.

Last Wednesday, March 9 we gathered at Lakeside and had a real good turnout. We discussed warmer weather as we enjoyed an indoor picnic of hamburgers and cheeseburgers, potato salad and macaroni salad made by Randy’s Restaurant.
Our wonderful volunteers put together a salad and made hot dogs. We stretched and relaxed with chair yoga, taught by Nanette Shovea-Burke and we also planned for some future events.
And of course, we had our normal lively crew who really enjoys playing Pitch! SHARP will be back at Lakeside Terrace on March 23rd and the 30th.
Last week we were busy at SHARP as aside from our regular program, we were able to take part in the Picking A Reading Partner (PARP) program at Town of Webb School on Wednesday March 9, and we got to watch the school play, The Pajama Game, on Saturday, March 12th.
The play was very well done and we thoroughly enjoyed the young energetic talent!
At our most recent gathering on March 16 we were visited by Webb School’s kindergarten class. They shared books they made with our seniors, played games and made St. Patrick’s Day-themed crafts.
SHARP is a free program offered to all independent senior citizens from Woodgate to Raquette Lake.
We meet at Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday.
Lunch during our regular Wednesday sessions is provided by the Community Health & Wellness Fund (formerly the Town of Webb Health Center Fund.)For more information, call or text (315) 225-7553, or email activitiescoordinator4seniors@yahoo.com.
