John and Kathy Nahor and family will be the special guests at a community gathering at Stuart deCamp’s Moose River Bed and Breakfast in Thendara on Saturday, June 6 from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
All are invited to stop by and share a memory with John and Kathy as they return to the old neighborhood where it all began for them.

The 4th Annual Freedom March of the Adirondacks will be held on Sunday, June 28.
The event includes a 13-mile walk from Inlet’s Fern Park to Van Auken’s Inne in Thendara and a 5K walk/run which will begin from Van Auken’s.
Proceeds of the march will benefit Old Forge American Legion Post 893’s Wounded Warrior Project, The Compassionate Community, and other area charities and organizations. Continue reading

For the first time in history The Eagle Bay BombERNs took the field on Tuesday, June 2 as the newest team in the Adirondack Women’s Softball League. The clouds hung dark and heavy as the Tavern-sponsored expansion team dug into the batter’s box and settled in for a season of summer fun.

The Town of Webb approved a well drilling project that commenced on Thursday, June 4, to restore water flow to the Eagle Bay Welcome Center, which had been plagued by inconsistencies since being opened in the fall of 2013.
“At our meeting [on Monday, June 1], the board agreed to drill a well on the property,” said Supervisor Ted Riehle.
Riehle said the facility had frozen up for the second winter in a row in 2014–15.
The center had been intended to serve snowmobile visitors, as well as those during summer. Continue reading
