Linking Lives reading program wraps up season

Participants of the Linking Lives Through Reading program at the Old Forge Library, which pairs an adult book buddy with an elementary school student, recently met for their final session of the season.

The program, in memory of the late Leola Tobin,  pairs an adult book buddy with a first grader in the spring session and a second grader in the fall.

Participants read together, use reading related material together, and decorate the library with flowers equal to the amount of  books that are read.

They meet for six one-hour sessions.

They also watch films together—followed by discussion—and enjoy goodies.

During the final session they made their own sundaes topped with gummy worms, cherries and more.
