6th annual Inlet Memory Walk set June 20

Inlet Memory Walk will again take place from Arrowhead Park on Saturday, June 20. The 6th Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s will begin with registration at 9 a.m.; the walk begins at 10 a.m.

As in past years, the donations will be divided between the Alzheimer’s Association and the RCIL (respite) program in Inlet.  Continue reading

Town of Webb Police Report

The Town of Webb Police has reported the following law enforcement activity.

A 27-year-old Mattituck, NY man was charged with Speed in Zone and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd following an incident that occurred on Friday, May 29 at 7:02 p.m.

According to the report, Town of Webb Police received a 911 report of an erratic motorcycle operator. A traffic stop on said motorcycle resulted in the arrest of the defendant for the above charges.

The man was arraigned at Town of Webb Court and released on bail to return at a later date. Continue reading

Piano Recital set at Niccolls Church

Piano students of Ms. Valerie Gaudin will present their annual Spring Piano Recital on Tuesday, June 9 at 7 p.m. at Niccolls Memorial Church.

Enjoy performances by: Fern Bailey, Chloe Barkauskas, Allyson Brosemer, Chloe Brosemer,  Megan DeFilipps, Clifford Donovan, Alexis Hollister, Alivia Hopsicker, Holly Kalil, Olivia Phaneuf and Jack Rivet.

Refreshments will be served immediately following the performance.

The recital is open to the public.

Herkimer County health agency releases local foods map, guide

As part of a campaign for Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work, and Play in Herkimer County, Herkimer County HealthNet and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Herkimer County are distributing the 2015 edition of the Herkimer County Local Foods Map.

As part of a grant from the New York State Department of Health, the Herkimer County Local Foods Map is a project aimed to increase awareness of local foods produced in our area and to increase healthy eating.  Continue reading

Old Forge Garden Club to meet

Members of the Old Forge Garden Club will take a field trip and tour of Mansion House and Garden in Sherrill on Tuesday, June 9. Lunch will follow at the golf course restaurant.

All will meet at VIEW to carpool at 8:45 a.m.

New venue: Polar Bear tent sale set June 6

The Polar Bear Ski Club’s annual tent sale will be held on Saturday, June 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the south lot of Mountainman Outdoor Supply Co. on Route 28 in Old Forge.

Donations can be dropped off under the tent any time after Thursday, June 4. Early bird preview and sales will begin on Friday, June 5 at 4 p.m.

All proceeds from the sale support the Polar Bear youth alpine, biathlon and nordic ski programs.
