Inlet Legion Post to conduct wreath laying ceremonies

The American Legion Leonard-Mick-Roberts Post #1402 will hold its Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony on Monday, May 25 at 9 a.m. in front of the Inlet Town Hall.

All are invited to take a few moments from their day  to honor those who have fought for our country.

A similar ceremony will be performed by Post #1402 in front of the Raquette Lake Library at 10 a.m.

They will also travel to Indian Lake to march in the Hamilton County Parade at 2 p.m.

Polar Bear tent sale set

The Polar Bear Ski Club’s  annual tent sale will be held on Saturday, June 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lot across from George’s Liquors.

Donations can be dropped off under the tent any time after Thursday, June 4.

Early bird preview and sales will begin on Friday, June 5 at 4 p.m.

All proceeds from the sale support the Polar Bear youth alpine, biathlon and nordic ski programs.

Thank you for softball support

The “brand-spankin’-new” Women’s Softball Team from Eagle Bay would like to thank everyone who helped bring it into existence! The BombERNs, as the girls shall be called in reference to The Tavern who sponsors them, are excited and have been practicing diligently!

Beulah M. Heroux passes away

Beulah M. Heroux of Inlet passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Utica, NY late Sunday, May 17. A funeral mass is planned for Tuesday, May 26 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Inlet.

A full obituary will appear in next week’s paper.

TOW Police Dept. Report

The Town of Webb Police Department has issued the following  report of recent law enforcement activity.

A 45-year-old Clinton, NY man was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident and False Written Statement following an incident that occurred on Sunday, May 10.

According to the report, Webb Police investigated an incident which occurred at the Back Door Bar in Old Forge and was reported by said individual on May 10.  Continue reading
