Garden Club slates season’s first meeting in Old Forge

The Garden Club of Old Forge will hold its first meeting of the season on Tuesday, May 12 at 10 a.m. at VIEW.

Special guest will be Janice Wnuk, who will demonstrate how to make your own Hypertufa (artificial rock) planter. Hypertufa mix and finished products will be available for purchase on-site.

A business meeting will follow the presentation.

New members are always welcome.

Adirondack Bank accepting letters of interest for 2015 charity golf funds

The Adirondack Bank Charity Golf Classic is scheduled at the Thendara Golf Club for Monday, June 22 and the Charity Selection Committee is seeking letters of interest from local non-profit organizations that would like to be considered as recipients of funds from the charitable event.

Requests from 501(c) not-for-profit organizations are eligible for consideration.  Continue reading

Webb Police Dept. report

A 26-year-old Old Forge man was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Blood Alcohol Content Over .08 percent, and Failure to Stop for a Stop Sign following an incident that occurred on Saturday, May 2 at 2:22 a.m.

According to the report, the defendent was arrested for DWI after failing to stop for a stop sign.

Old Forge: Free Kiwanis Car Wash scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd

The 15th Annual Kiwanis Key Club and Builder’s Club Free Car Wash will be held Saturday, May 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Calypso’s Cove parking lot in Old Forge.

This is the annual event that provides funds for the administration and operations of all the many Kiwanis children’s activities that take place during the year.   Continue reading
