The Senior Health Activity and Recreation Program (SHARP) is very grateful to CAP-21 for sponsoring our first community event/fundraiser. All are invited to join us at the Old Forge Fire Hall on Saturday, June 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. for Retro Day, a celebration of the 1950s.
It will be a family-friendly, fun-filled afternoon. There will be games for all ages, raffles, a dance competition and more. So please come out and support us while having some fun recreating the 50’s!
In the meantime, we have some fun activities planned for the next two weeks. The theme of our Wednesday, May 27 gathering is Tie a Yellow Ribbon. It will be a day of remembrance, and a time to celebrate and reflect. Bring a picture or a memory to share about a loved one who served or currently serves in the armed forces.
Father Shane will drop by for a visit.
There will also be a Corn Holer hooting showdown and an event planning session.
Join us Wednesday, June 3 for Movie Morning. Final planning and preparations for our June 6 fundraiser will take place….and play some of the games planned for the event.
SHARP is a free program offered to all independent senior citizens from Woodgate to Raquette Lake.
We meet at Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday. Each week we offer snacks, card games and other activity options.
Lunch during our regular Wednesday sessions is provided by the Community Health & Wellness Fund, formerly the Town of Webb Health Center Fund.
