Slow Pitch Softball set in Old Forge

Slow Pitch Softball Games for men and women ages 40 will be held Sundays at 4 p.m. at the Little League field on Park Ave. in Old Forge.

The games are organized by Bill Brooker, Sr. who manages senior Slow Pitch ball games in Florida, where he spends his winters.

Interested players should bring their ball gloves, something to drink and a folding chair.

According to Brooker, special rules will apply for different aged players, including no sliding and no collisions. Other rules will be announced at game time.

“There is no need for advance sign-up, just show up on Sunday and join in the fun,” said Brooker.

Spectators are always welcome, Brooker said.

Old Forge fireworks: Real blast of fun

Hey this is Rosy RoX, the girl around town, in the know and here to answer your questions. So, bring them on, along with your problems, at: rosyrox.adk@gmail.com.

Rosy’s Random Review: The Fourth of July fireworks in Old Forge seems to be the main event of the summer.

Fourth of July is one day that the businesses spend a lot of time preparing for and that people really look forward to.

I went down to the lakefront to watch the fireworks and there were tons of people. The fireworks were once again amazing.

My favorite was the pink heart-shaped one, but maybe that’s because it’s my favorite color and shape.

The grand finale had the crowd cheering and the boats beeping. Every year I get my hopes up to see the Old Forge fireworks, and every year I’m even more amazed.

Way to go Old Forge!

Dear Rosy RoX,

I’m visiting Old Forge for the summer. What are some good ideas of fun things to do for me and friends here?
