Rosy’s Random Review: The Fourth of July fireworks in Old Forge seems to be the main event of the summer.
Fourth of July is one day that the businesses spend a lot of time preparing for and that people really look forward to.
I went down to the lakefront to watch the fireworks and there were tons of people. The fireworks were once again amazing.
My favorite was the pink heart-shaped one, but maybe that’s because it’s my favorite color and shape.
The grand finale had the crowd cheering and the boats beeping. Every year I get my hopes up to see the Old Forge fireworks, and every year I’m even more amazed.
Way to go Old Forge!

I’m visiting Old Forge for the summer. What are some good ideas of fun things to do for me and friends here?
Visiting
Dear Visiting,
TONS! Camping, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, take a chairlift ride up McCauley Mountain, go to Water Safari, race go-karts at Calypso Cove. It’s endless really.
Another great thing to do is simply relax and enjoy the scenery.
If you’re only here for a short time then just try a couple of things, no need to rush around and get stressed.
This is upstate New York, not New York City. Just don’t lock yourself up in your room.
