Town of Webb Police Chief Ron Johnston gave an annual report of his department on Tuesday, March 8, at the Town of Webb Board’s regular monthly meeting.
Chief Johnston said it had been the board’s request that he offer regular updates.
Additionally, Johnston bestowed commendations upon his officers, in the form of verbal praise and awards, including the naming of Kevin Birtle as Webb’s 2015 Officer of the Year. Continue reading

The Town of Webb Board conducted an array of monthly business at its regular meeting held on Tuesday, March 8th in Old Forge.
Charles Bogardus submitted his resignation and finished his employment at the Town of Webb Department of Public Works on February 27. Supervisor Moore offered public thanks to Bogardus for his service to the town and wished him well in his future endeavors. Continue reading

The Town of Webb Board, following a resolution adopted in November, agreed to ask Herkimer County to erect “no parking” signs to limit parking on a 200-foot stretch of the South Shore Road, but that measure is now being reconsidered.
The Board adopted the resolution in response to complaints of nearby property owners.
The property owners said the cars, which overflow from the Red Dog Tavern on busy nights, impair the visibility of both themselves and oncoming traffic, as they attempt to exit their driveway. Continue reading

The Town of Webb Planning Board held a public hearing on the proposed Fastrac expansion project on Tuesday, December 1st at the Park Avenue Building in Old Forge.
The hearing featured a presentation by Fastrac Markets representative Jim Allen.
He described revisions that Fastrac had made in response to concerns communicated by nearby property owners. Continue reading

Dan Rivet has presented the Town of Webb Board with a contract for its consideration, pertaining to the Advanced Life Support (ALS) staffing arrangement that will start in Webb in January 2016.
He provided the contract at the Board’s Budget Hearing on Monday, November 2.
The contract was the result of negotiations between Old Forge Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Town of Webb Attorney Richard Frye, according to Rivet.

The Town of Webb Board met on Tuesday, July 14 for its regular monthly meeting. The Board’s business included adoption of a resolution to withdraw $23,000 from the previously established “Public Works Equipment Capital Reserve Fund.”
As of June 1, 2015 the amount of the reserve fund was $26,042, according to Supervisor Ted Riehle.
The expended amount will be to purchase a truck and accessory equipment for use by the Public Works Department. Continue reading
The Town of Webb received word from Herkimer County that the local match required for a new shuttle bus system has been revised upward from a previous projection—doubled—and would require a renewed commitment from the town and Central Adirondack Association (CAA), according to Nick Rose, executive director of CAP-21.
CAP-21, with assistance from Town of Webb Publicity Director Mike Farmer, has been coordinating a grant application with Herkimer County. Continue reading
