The Raquette Lake Ice Harvest held on Satruday, February 27 was a success despite the above average temperatures and the unusual amount of rain for this time of year.
Jim Dillon, owner of Raquette Lake Supply and the organizer of the event, uses the harvested ice to help keep the coolers cold at his store and in the Tap Room.
This is a tradition that dates back over a hundred years.

The Raquette Lake Winter Carnival will begin Friday, February 12 at 5 p.m. at the Raquette Lake Fire Hall with a Spagehetti Dinner.
The meal is $10; take out is available. Proceeds will benefit the Raquette Lake Ladies Auxiliary.

Forty six boats pre-registered for the Saturday, July 25 annual bass derby held in Raquette Lake. The breakfast buffet was held at the fire hall during registration verification and confirmation of team members. After a short meeting the teams departed from the town dock—after a live wells’ inspection—for eight hours of fishing competition. Continue reading
The Raquette Lake Parents Teachers and Friends will sponsor the 25th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair at the Raquette Lake School on Route 28 on Saturday, August 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is a juried show with all items being displayed for sale the work of the exhibitor on site, the majority of who reside in the Adirondack Park.

Contestants verify registration and team members have breakfast and a short meeting beginning at 5 a.m. at the Raquette Lake fire hall. They depart for the Raquette Lake Dock for live wells inspection and their timed start. Continue reading

We live in an area where we are most dependent on tourism, and in turn, good customer service. We find good customer service in most businesses and service industries.
However, I would like to especially recognize Burke’s Marina in Raquette Lake. Michael and Nora Burke and all their staff have a reputation for great customer service, flexibility and just plain good old “treat others as you would like to be treated” philosophy. Continue reading

The Raquette Lake Fish & Game Club hosted its 10th Annual Lamphear Memorial Fishing Derby on Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16. Twenty-two adult and five junior anglers competed for prize money and plaques in the bullhead, brook trout, lake trout and perch categories.
