Raquette Lake readies Pitch and Potluck

The Raquette Lake Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will host a Pitch Tournament and Texas Hold’em fundraising event at 5 p.m. at the Raquette Lake Fire Hall on Wednesday, May 13.

The event will include a pot luck supper and all are asked to bring a dish to pass and beverages of choice. The cost to play cards is $10.

Raquette Lake hosting class for defensive driving

A Defensive Driving Class will be offered at the Raquette Lake Union Free School on Sunday, March 29, from 12 noon to 8 p.m.

Completion of the class entitles participants to a 10 percent insurance discount and four points off a driver’s license.

The cost of the class is $35. Walk-ins are welcome.

Raquette Lake: Winter Carnival slated for February 13, 14, 15

The Raquette Lake Winter Carnival will begin Friday, February 13 at 5 p.m. at the Raquette Lake Fire Hall with an all-you-can-eat Pasta Dinner.

The meal is $10 and includes assorted pastas, salad, garlic bread and dessert.

Take out is available. Proceeds will benefit the Raquette Lake Ladies Softball Team.   Continue reading

Ice Fest: Raquette and Long lakes to host annual event on Feb. 6th & 7th

The Town of Long Lake Parks and Recreation Department will host the fourth annual Ice Fest celebration in Raquette Lake and Long Lake on Friday and Saturday, February 6 and 7.

Ice installations start Friday morning at 9 a.m. in Raquette Lake and at 8 a.m. Saturday in Long Lake.  Continue reading

Adirondack Mountain Productions Raquette Lake provides winter photo backdrop for Timberland

Kurt and Ximena Gardner of Adirondack Mountain Productions have been on-site in Raquette Lake this week working with a New York City-based producer in creating website imagery for the outdoor retailer, Timberland.

The Gardners and their services were discovered purely out of research by freelance producer Scott Boucher who was contracted by Timberland to produce a winter 2015 web presence geared towards wholesale buyers and suppliers. Continue reading
