The 3rd Annual Freedom March of the Adirondacks will be held on Sunday, June 29th. The event includes a 13-mile walk from Inlet’s Fern Park to Van Auken’s Inne in Thendara and a 5K walk/run which will begin from Van Auken’s.
Proceeds of the march will benefit Old Forge American Legion Post 893 and local Wounded Warrior rehabilitation centers. Continue reading

Old Forge American Legion Post 893 recently received an unexpected donation of $2,000 in support of its Wounded Warrior Project from a Boston-area Andersen windows sales team.

The gift was prompted by David Sullivan, sales manager for Renewal by Andersen Corporation of Northborough, MA, who learned about the Wounded Warrior program last June while participating in the Legion’s annual golf tournament with his fiancée, Linda Valette of Old Forge. Continue reading

Covey-Pashley American Legion Post #893 of Old Forge will host its 50th Annual Golf Tournament at Thendara Golf Club on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, June 8, 9, and 10th.
The tournament is open to all members of the American Legion, its auxiliary, and the Sons of the American Legion and their guests.
Some major hole-in-one prizes have been donated in commemoration of the 50-year event. Continue reading
