The Adirondack Christmas on Main Street event in Old Forge over the weekend of Novem-ber 27 through 29 attracted hundreds of visitors to the area.

The three-day event featured unique shopping experiences, tree lightings, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, train and horsedrawn carriage rides, and lots of fun for the whole family.

A highlight of the weekend was the Friday night Light Parade up Main Street that led to Point Park for the tree lighting ceremony.  Continue reading →

Webb Board passes array of resolutions in final monthly meeting of 2016

The Town of Webb Board held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, December 8th, with Councilman Ross presiding as Deputy Supervisor.

A learned childhood skill that remains rewarding to this day

I’m not sure when my passion for sewing started. As a boy I remember my mother working on bit of knitting or cross stitch, and her quilting rack was set up in our living room.

Many long cold December Saturday afternoons I watched as she methodically put needle and thread to her quilt.

I periodically checked on her progress during the commercial breaks of the college basketball and football games I was watching.  Continue reading →
