The Town of Webb UFSD Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, where it reviewed the following information and took the following action:
Approved the Minutes of the November 17, 2015 meeting.
Approved the Warrants and Claims.

Bradley Mason Damon, 71, of Fairport, NY died at home on November 20, 2015.
Born in Portland, ME, Brad spent most of his life in Rochester and Fairport.
He attended Allendale School and graduated from Berwick Academy and Nichols College.
Upon retirement from his career in banking, Brad spent as much time as he could in the family place that was his favorite spot, on Fourth Lake in Inlet, NY. Continue reading

The Town of Webb School hosted Michael Nerney, a consultant on Substance Abuse Prevention and Education, for a recent community awareness talk centered on young adult issues.
He explained the stresses that teens can experience from their involvement in the social media world.
It is called “Facebook Depression” or “Social Media Anxiety,” he said.
Thirteen- to twenty-three-year-olds tend to experience the highest degrees of stress, according to Nerney. Continue reading

The Town of Webb Code Office is going through a long overdue change in the filing system. There are thousands of files.
We need access to any one of them at any given time. Things like active/open building permits, closed files from older projects, enforcement actions, files in the approval stages of state building code review, or Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals actions. Continue reading

Thanksgiving acts as a reminder to us to be thankful for what we have. I do not have to think hard or look far to see the many things I am so very thankful for.
I used to dream of the day that I could go for a hike in the woods without going far from home.

Adirondack Christmas on Main Street was a fun and successful event in Inlet over the weekend of November 27, 28 and 29th! Businesses and specialty vendors provided unique shopping experiences throughout the weekend.
French Louie played Christmas music all weekend over the PA system that was heard through town.
Many letters to Santa were left in the special mailbox at the Inlet Town Hall. Santa himself will answer each letter that includes a return address. Continue reading

Members of the Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks and Knights of Columbus raised over $1,300 in funds for the Salvation Army over the Old Forge Adirondack Christmas on Main Street weekend, November 27, 28 and 29th.
Bell-ringer volunteers spent over 60 hours collecting funds over the weekend in front of Walt’s Diner and Souvenir Village.
“Kiwanis and our local community are pleased that with the generous contributions of the many visitors, tourists and local citizens to the Salvation Army. The funds raised will be used in the Central Adirondack area during the entire year to assist Central Adirondack families in need,” said Bill Ransom, coordinator of the project.
The Deacons of Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge will continue the effort on Saturday, December 12th.
