Luke and Katie Langworthy of Old Forge announce the birth of their third son, Dax Rivett, on August 9, 2015 at 2:58 a.m.
Dax weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. at birth and measured 20 1/4 inches long. He joins big brothers Kayden and Chase.
Maternal grandparents are Pinky and Ken Wallis of Eagle Bay, and the late Christopher Rivett. Paternal grandparents are Dave and Debbie Langworthy of Old Forge and Melinda and Paul Shear of Adams, NY.

While on a five-day backpacking trip over the summer, I was upset and frustrated that I had packed too much in my pack.
You would think after a couple of backpacking trips I would have figured out that I am not a super hero, and I just can’t carry all that weight for that long of a hiking trip.
Well, in some areas I guess I’m just a slow learner. Humility had a way of cutting me more than the straps of the heavy burden digging into my shoulders.

The Town of Webb school’s first grade class made its annual trip to the Old Forge firehall on Friday, October 16th.

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks has announced that its Student of the Month for October is Mara Gaffney.
Mara is the daughter of Michael and Loretta Gaffney of Old Forge and is a senior at Town of Webb Union Free School.
The Student of the Month is a program initiated by the Kiwanis Club, in cooperation with the Town of Webb School, that recognizes senior students. Continue reading

The Town of Inlet recently completed the installation of new carpeting at the Inlet Community/Senior Center located within the Town Hall.
CAP-21 coordinated the fund raising for this project which included support from the Inlet Young At Heart seniors, the Inlet Barnstormers Snowmobile Club, the Inlet Area Business Association, the Community Foundation, the Adirondack Foundation, the Town of Inlet and an on-line fundraising campaign through the Adirondack Gives website. The air was extremely cold that morning in 1978 as I went out to the woodpile to fill the wheelbarrow with wood to feed our Ben Franklin stove.
I could see my breath pouring out in front of me as I wheeled across the driveway.
