All welcome to join in First Friday Artwalks

The first in a series of First Friday Artwalks in Old Forge is scheduled for June 5 from 5 to 8 p.m., and coordinator Linda Weal of Gallery 3040 invites all businesses and organizations to join in the event.

Anyone interested in being included in the Artwalk schedule can contact Weal at (315) 369-1059 or at: gallery3040@gmail.com.

Future Artwalk dates are: July 3, August 7, September 4 and October 2.

Kids Earn Babysitting Certificates at Library

Open Mic Night for writers planned at Old Forge Library, May 20

Writers, aspiring writers, songwriters and members of the public are invited to share their own work, or to just come and listen to others, at an Open Mic Night at the Old Forge Library on Wednesday, May 20.

Featured reader and emcee will be Cheryl Pula. A native of New York Mills, Pula is a retired reference librarian, lecturer and history buff.  Continue reading

Library to host kids bike safety clinic

The Annual Bicycle Safety Clinic for pre-kindergarten to 6th grade students will be held at the Old Forge Library on Friday, May 22 from 2:15 to 4 p.m.

Town of Webb Police Officer Kevin Birtle will conduct the safety clinic to discuss road signs and hand signals.

Also taking part will be Ted Christodaro, owner of Pedals and Petals in Inlet, who will inspect bicycles and supervise the mechanical station.

Refreshments will be provided by the Old Forge Fire Department Auxiliary.

Advance registration is not required.

The Niccolls Memorial Church congregation invites the community and their pets to join them on Sunday, May 17 for a Blessing of the Animals that will be held at Moose River Farm at 1 p.m.

All animals—dogs, cats, gerbils, birds, etc.—are welcome and must be securely restrained. Dogs and cats must have up to date rabies documentation. Continue reading
