Old Forge Library: Entries welcome for ’15 Sweetheart Baking Contest

The Old Forge Library will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with its annual Sweetheart Dessert Contest on Tuesday, February 10.

Entries will be accepted  in  four categories: Youth Student, Teen Student, Adult and Master.

Desserts will be judged on creativity, presentation, texture and taste. Continue reading

Registration is now open for the monthly Girls’ Night Out event at VIEW that will be held Tuesday, February 10 from 7 to 9 p.m.

David Beck inducted into Phi Theta Kappa at MVCC

David Beck was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society at Mohawk Valley Community College in a ceremony held on campus on Thursday, January 29.David Beck

Speakers during the ceremony included MVCC President Dr. Randall VanWagoner, Dr. Maryrose Eannace, vice president, and Dean Lew Kahler.

Hallmark updates were given by current Phi Theta Kappa officers and the formal induction was completed by Chapter President Amy LaLone, who lead the Oath of Membership. Continue reading

Old Forge DMV holiday hours

The Old Forge DMV Satellite Office will be closed for the President’s Day holiday on Monday, February 16.

Drop boxes, located at the front of the building, are available for work to be left when the office is not open.

Regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., closed from noon to 1 p.m.

The office is located at 183 Park Ave. and the phone number is (315) 369-3301.
