Old Forge Library: Entries welcome for ’15 Sweetheart Baking Contest

The Old Forge Library will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with its annual Sweetheart Dessert Contest on Tuesday, February 10.

Entries will be accepted  in  four categories: Youth Student, Teen Student, Adult and Master.

Desserts will be judged on creativity, presentation, texture and taste.

Judges this year are Paul Giessler, Kathy Rivet and Louise Watson. Giessler is the cafeteria manager and chef at the Town of Webb Schools.

Rivet, along with her husband Paul, run Five Corners Café on Main Street, Old Forge.

Watson is a retired Town of Webb School teacher who contributed to the cookbook, “Learning to Cook Adiron-dack” by Nancy Pulling Best.

To enter the contest, deliver your homemade favorite desserts to the library between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. the day of the event.

A reception will be held at 7 p.m. and the contest winners will be announced at 7:40 p.m.

The community is invited to stop in from 7 to 8 p.m. to sample the entries.
