Gordons honored at Barnstormers Snowmobile Club’s Annual Dinner

The Inlet Barnstormers Snowmobile Club held their annual dinner meeting at the Steak House in Thendara on Wednesday, March 12 which was well attended despite the poor traveling conditions.2014 March Dinner Meeting 021

During the gathering, out-going President Bob Gordon was presented service awards for his 16 years of dedication to the Barnstormers.

He received the award from in-coming president, Ron Nihill.

Vice President Bob Gates also presented Gordon and his wife, Linda, with Lifetime Membership certificates to the club for their service. 2014 March Dinner Meeting 019

Town of Webb Board of Education holds March 18 meeting

The Town of Webb UFSD Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, March 18, where it took the actions summarized as follows (not official minutes).

Approved the Minutes of February 18, 2014 meeting.

Approved the Warrants and Claims.

Approved the Committee on Special Education Recommen-dations.

Approved the CSEA Sick Bank Committee Recommen-dation

Approved the Resignation for Retirement of Patricia Harwood, Special Education teacher, with regret and appreciation for her 29 years of service at the Town of Webb UFSD/33 years in education, effective June 30, 2014.

Old Forge: St. Paddy’s Parade & Stew Winners Announced

The winning entries at the Old Forge St. Patrick’s Day Parade were announced by the judges following the parade. Taking first place honors was the Cheers to St. Patrick’s Day float. IMG_5282*******

IMG_4831*******Coming in second was the Ouchi O’Lympics, and in third place was the Old Forge Irish Setters Club.

The People’s Choice went to the Chip ‘N Dale Dancers featuring Chip Kiefer and Dale Heroux.

A special Honorable Mention went to the Synchronized Snowplows for their memorial tributes to the late Bob Lowenberg and Bud Gribneau, longtime parade participants.IMG_4680********

Winners of the Irish Stew Contest were as follows: first place – Felicity Davey and Charlie Kiefer for Adirondack Café; second place – Nick Bankert for Last Run Café; and third place – Chip Kiefer for Maloy’s Restaurant.
