Sutherlands grateful for community support

We would like to express our thanks, love, and appreciation to those of you who prayed, donated, stopped by to share a hug, a story, or to laugh and cry with us on the loss of our beloved wife and mother Kirsty.

Over the weeks we have heard many descriptions of Kirsty: bigger than life, pillar of the community, prominent volunteer, one of those faces of the area…

Yes, she was all of those things, but to us she was a wife, mother, best friend, lover, business partner—this amazing woman who was so driven and focused on her ideas (and believe me she had plenty of them.)

Kirsty had this vision for  everything she touched. From her first place known simply as Kirsty’s, to the Red Dog, her precious Alex, our home, and finally Ozzie’s. There was to be the next place…the vision on that was to have the brightest red roof Inlet has ever seen. She talked about that the first day we bought it.

Since the day of the accident we have realized that although she is gone and in our minds, she will NEVER be forgotten. There have been other amazing women in our lives as well to help us through.

Mom, Becky, thanks for everything.

Thera, Whitney, and Mackenzie, thanks for keeping the coffee shop open and running smoothly—keep up the great work! ( I will be there in your way soon, very soon.) Sharon Evans for keeping the business end all square.

Kate Russell, you my friend are an amazing woman who made sure everything was up to Kirsty’s expectations for the biggest party she had ever hosted. Georgia and Laura, Tricia and Abigail, thank you for being there for Alex.

Anne and the healing horses, thank you for giving Alex a place to keep some normalcy in her life—you’ve created a monster. The Inlet teachers for being there for Alex and to all the amazing moms on both ends of the lake for cooking, running Alex, or helping with anything. We appreciate your help soooo much.

Thanks to my brother Mark, Scott Eisenhart, Mike Russell, Griffin Kleps and Tyler McGough for helping me finish my fall commitments to my customers.

Thank you to the Polar Bear family for your continued supoort, Reverend Bartel for the great words and service.

Finally, to all the people who made that party happen, thank you! The food was handled by a team of the best in the business.

To my brothers in the fire service IVES, EBFD, OFFD, BMFD, Maynard, Floyd to Stittville and beyond, that was a great mutual aid response, all coming together and working as one.

If I have missed anyone sorry, so thank you. I am proud to call everyone on this list my friend.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Kirsty’s spirit will live on through myself, Alex, and all of you. Or every time I think about those crazy bright red leaves, the water that runs out of that ledge, or most of all that eagle that soared over me while I was climbing on that roof she hated me on.

Again, thanks for your continues support.

Raise your cup and smile!

Eric & Alex Sutherland,

Inlet
