Forestport to hold tree lighting and electric horse parade, Dec. 2

The Town of Forestport will mark the beginning of the holiday season by hosting a variety of events on Sunday, December 2.

The schedule of events includes visits with Santa at Memorial Park from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Park and an art exhibit by local artist Connie Smith.

The Tree Lighting at Memorial Park will be held at 4:45 p.m., and following at 5 p.m. will be an Electric Horse Parade.

Line-up for the parade will begin at 4 p.m. and all are welcome to take part as long as they are “lit up” and decorated for the occasion.

No motorized floats or vehicles are allowed.

The parade will proceed down a luminary-lined path.

Santa will arrive at Memorial Park by horse drawn wagon and there will be wagon rides, hot cider and other refreshments, and entertainment.
