Webb & Raquette ballot totals

Voters in the Town of Webb Union Free School District voted to adopt the 2011-2012 school budget in the amount of $7,552,866 at the budget vote held on Tuesday, May 17.

There were 275 votes in favor of the proposed budget and 62 against.

Colin Clark ran unopposed for a five-year term on the Board of Education and received 297 votes. Guy Greco received two write-in votes.

Voters also voted positively on a proposition to reduce the number of board of education members from seven to five. There were 234 votes in favor and 96 against. The action will take effect in the 2012-2013 school year.

Voters in the Raquette Lake School District positively passed the proposed 2011-2012 budget of $259,861 with 35 votes in favor and 9 against. The budget reflected a 2.8% decrease from the previous year’s budget.

The proposition to raise the Raquette Lake Free Library budget from $9,000 to $10,000 was also passed with 33 voters in favor and 11 in opposition.

Incumbent Liz Forsell will serve another 5-year term on the school board after receiving 29 votes. There were also a number of write-in votes for the position. Elizabeth Noonan received 8, Bill Pohl received 2, Tom Norris received 2, and Jim Blanchard received 1 vote. Two write-ins were delivered blank.
