The 15th Annual Durant Days celebration will be held Friday through Sunday, August 1 to 3 at various locations throughout Raquette Lake.
The event honors the legacy of William West Durant, the architect and visionary of Great Camps architecture, who imagined a place where wealthy urbanites could escape the noise, smog and crowding created by the Industrial Age.
Among the opportunities that can be enjoyed by visitors are Friday tours of Camp Pine Knot and St. Williams on Long Point and narrated cruises aboard the W.W. Durant.
On Saturday, the a capella group Wide Variety will perform at the Raquette Lake School at 2 p.m. and Midnite Mike will provide music from 5 to 7 p.m.
The boat parade begins at 7 p.m. with fireworks to follow at dusk.
Sunday’s events begin at 10 a.m. with half-price tours of Great Camp Sagamore.
Water taxi service to St. Hubert’s Isle will be provided from 2 to 2:45 p.m., courtesy of Burke’s Marina.
The public is invited to visit the historic island chapel for the annual Ecumenical Vespers Service at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 3 p.m.
