The 6th annual Ice Cream Social, sponsored by the potters at VIEW, will take place on Friday, August 1 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at Point Park in the center of Old Forge.
Hand-built ceramic bowls made by the potters can be purchased with ice cream from Mercer’s Dairy of Boonville. There will be a variety of ice cream available as well as sundaes, brownie sundaes, and a choice of toppings.
Ruth McKenna, organizer of the event, said she and fellow potters have created over 300 unique bowls that can be purchased for $10 to $20, depending on the intricacies of the selected pieces. She added that other pieces of pottery will also be available for sale during the event.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the View Ceramics Studio. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Old Forge Fire Hall located next to Point Park.
More information is available by calling (315) 369-6411 ext. 201, or email info@viewarts.org. Pottery workshops are held in the Meyda Tiffany and Lighting Creative Arts Wing at VIEW.
