Webb Police Department reports activity

To follow is current police activity in the Town of Webb as reported by Town of Webb Police Chief John Russell.

• At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 12, Officer Kathryn Dillon of the Town of Webb Police Department observed a 49-year-old  Delmar man operating a snowmobile on State Route 28 near Hollister Road.

He was subsequently stopped and arrested for operating his sled on State Route 28, and driving while intoxicated on a snowmobile.

• At 3:27 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, Town of Webb Police and the Old Forge Ambulance responded to a personal injury snowmobile accident on Trail Five at the intersection of 19.

According to Chief Russell, a 36-year-old Randallstown, MD man failed to negotiate a slight left-hand curve, causing him to go over an embankment where he then struck a tree.

He was later transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with a compound fracture of the lower leg. Multiple charges were pending at press time.

Town of Webb’s Police Chief reports on local department’s recent activity

The following police activity report was given by Town of Webb Police Chief John Russell.

On Wednesday, February 1, Richard Neenan, Jr., 40, of Feura Bush, NY was operating a snowmobile on Big Moose Road, when he lost control and struck a tree. Neenan was transported by Inlet Ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica. The cause of the accident was undetermined at press time.

On Monday, January 30, Eric J. Menz, 28, of Eagle Bay was ticketed for reckless operation, not having a trail permit, and having no insurance after he collided with another snowmobile on Trail 5, just south of  Eagle Bay. Menz struck a snowmobile owned by Colin Burton who had stopped to assist another snowmobiler with a disabled sled. Continue reading
