Chip and Katie Kiefer and Tim and Patty Foley, organizers of the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Old Forge, are predicting the largest crowd ever for the Friday, March 14 event with the announcement that Eileen and Ron Hamlin of Remsen, parents of history-making Olympic bronze medalist Erin Hamlin, have accepted their invitation to be this year’s parade marshals. Parade among Memorial Day events planned in Old Forge
The Annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony in Old Forge will be held Monday, May 30, with marchers lining up on Gilbert Street-between the Post Office and the Town of Webb School-by about 9:45 a.m.
The parade begins from the school at 10 a.m. after a wreath laying ceremony that will take place at the Memorial Stone on the school lawn.
Marchers will include the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Old Forge Fire Department and their Auxiliary, and the Town of Webb School Band.
They will proceed along Main Street, stopping briefly to place a wreath on the Memorial Stone at the Fire Hall. Continue reading
