Niccolls Memorial Church to offer bereavement support program

A six-week Bereavement Support program will be offered at the Niccolls Memorial Church Social Room on Tuesdays October 7 through November 11 beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Anyone who has experienced the pain and grief of loss through death, divorce, economic hardship, forced move, or other significant life-change is invited to attend.

The program is based on the curriculum developed by Sr. Rose Troy, who offered similar programs through Catholic Charities in the Mohawk Valley. Sr. Rose, now retired, has shared her materials and support for the local program with current facilitator, Lani Ulrich.  Continue reading

Niccolls’ Fashions by Lake returns to Old Forge on Wednesday, July 16

The Women’s Fellowship Group of Niccolls Memor-ial Presbyterian Church of Old Forge will be hosting their annual Fashions by the Lake benefit fashion show and luncheon on Wednesday, July 16th.

The event will take place at North Woods Inn on Fourth Lake and begins at noon.

Fashions will be provided by local shops and modeled by year-round and summer residents of the area.

The clothing styles will include everything from dresses to beachwear and golfing attire.   Continue reading

Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church hosting Alternative Marketplace on Sunday, July 13th

The Old Forge community and visitors are invited to the Fellowship Hall of Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church from 8 to 9 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, for an Alternative Marketplace where fair trade coffee and crafts from around the world are sold.

The Alternative Market-place offers a range of Fair Trade products and crafts which assure small farmers and artisans fair compensation for their labor.  Continue reading

Sign up for Niccolls’ Family Bible School

Niccolls Memorial Church invites all children and their families to an intergenerational Vacation Bible School that will run from June 30 through July 2 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the church at 228 Crosby Boulevard in Old Forge.

Adults, families, and children of all ages are welcome to attend the Workshop of Wonders.  Continue reading

Loaves & Fishes Luncheon set for Thursday, April 24

The final Loaves & Fishes Café luncheon for the season will be held at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church on Crosby Blvd. in Old Forge on Thursday, April 24th.

Neighbors from Woodgate to Raquette Lake are invited to come and enjoy a free lunch of assorted soups, sandwiches, desserts and cold and hot beverages.

Transportation to the event can be arranged by calling Beverly Meeker at (315) 369-2234.

The Loaves & Fishes community luncheons are co-sponsored by Niccolls Memorial Church, St. Anthony’s and St. Bartholomew’s Catholic churches, as well as various community members.
