Niccolls Memorial Church to offer bereavement support program

A six-week Bereavement Support program will be offered at the Niccolls Memorial Church Social Room on Tuesdays October 7 through November 11 beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Anyone who has experienced the pain and grief of loss through death, divorce, economic hardship, forced move, or other significant life-change is invited to attend.

The program is based on the curriculum developed by Sr. Rose Troy, who offered similar programs through Catholic Charities in the Mohawk Valley. Sr. Rose, now retired, has shared her materials and support for the local program with current facilitator, Lani Ulrich.

Participants will explore the paths of bereavement and healing through the Grief Series of booklets written by Doug Manning.

Sponsorship of the program is provided by Dimbleby, Freidel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Homes and Trainor Funeral Homes, Inc. along with Niccolls Church.

To ensure enough materials are available for all participants, or for more information, please call the church at (315) 369-3475, or 369-3647.

The time for the program sessions may be adjusted based on interest and need of participants. A Spring program is also being planned.

Niccolls Memorial Church is located at 228 Crosby Blvd. in  Old Forge, next to the Old Forge Library.
