Goodsell Museum Mini Golf Tourney set July 17

The Town of Webb Historical Association invites all to participate in its inaugural Miniature Golf Tournament on Thursday, July 17 at Nutty Putty Mini Golf on Route 28 in Old Forge.

The event will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. and two-man teams can register to play for $20 per person. The fee includes 18 holes of golf, a hotdog or hamburger, and a beverage. Continue reading

Goodsell Museum: Lectures on Lawn kick off

The Town of Webb Historical Association’s summer Lectures on the Lawn series will begin on Tuesday, July 15 with a slideshow presentation, The 1928 Diary of Lottie Tuttle, by Town of Webb Historian Peg Masters and Therese Capone.

The program will illustrate life in Old Forge in 1928 from the perspective of Tuttle, who along with her artist husband Orley, owned the former Bay View Hotel. Lottie was also the first licensed female guide in New York State. Continue reading

Goodsell Museum seeks items for annual auction

The Goodsell Museum is seeking donations for its annual auction to be held on Saturday, July 12 on the museum property located at 2993 State Route 28 in Old Forge.

Items desired are: antiques, memorabilia, collectables, furniture and new or nearly-new household goods.

No electronics, exercise equipment or upholstered items, please. Continue reading

Goodsell Museum: Holiday Open House set Dec. 8

 The trustees of the Town of Webb Historical Associa-tion invites all members and the public to its annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 8 from noon to 3 p.m. 

The event, which will be held at the Goodsell Museum at 2993 State Route 28, will mark the official opening of the organization’s featured exhibit, “Webb: Wired to Wireless-Technology Comes to Town,” which chronicles the technological changes brought to the area in the last hundred years.

Refreshments will be served.
