Damon Kull graduates with honors

Damon KullDamon Kull graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL on Saturday, December 12, 2015.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in PGA Golf Manage-ment and a Bachelor of Science in Resort and Hospitality Management.

The 2011 graduate of Town of Webb School is currently employed by Textron Corporation of Augusta, FL.

Damon is the son of Diane and Randy Kull of Old Forge.

SUNY Cortland students and educators to lead Webb school program

Students and professors from the SUNY Cortland teacher candidate program located at the college’s Great Camp Huntington in Raquette Lake will come to Town of Webb UFSD to participate in an educational night on Thursday, February 11. Continue reading

Cameron Lenci earns Dean’s List honors

Cameron Lenci has been named to the Dean’s List at Monroe Community College for the Fall 2015 semester for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or more.

Cameron, a 2015 graduate of Town of Webb School, is majoring in Sports Management.

He is the son of Dawn Lenci of Old Forge and Scott Lenci of Hamden, NY.

Casey Crofut honored as off-road bike champion

1605Longtime motocross racer Casy Crofut of Old Forge was recognized as 2015 Super Senior A Bike Champion at the Western New York Offroad Association’s (WNYOA) year-end awards banquet held Saturday, January 23 at the Holiday Inn in Auburn, NY.

Crofut was honored with the award for accumulating the highest amount of points, during the WNYOA’s16-race season that ran from May through October. With a score of 232, he bested the second place winner by 22 points.

VIEW announces variety of workshops for month of February

VIEW, a multi-arts center located in Old Forge, has announced its schedule of February workshops.

The Start with Art After School Program offers youth a place to gather with peers to practice their art in a fun, collaborative setting.

The program is free of charge and offered to students of Town of Webb School, Inlet Common School, and/or those who are homeschooled in the Old Forge and Inlet areas. Continue reading

Spring service planned for William Peacock, 93

PEACOCK, WM PICWilliam Y. Peacock, a long-time resident of William St., in Old Forge passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016, after a short illness.

He was a remarkable man with a good sense of humor. “Willie” was fortunate to be able to be independent and live in his own home until a few weeks before his death.

At 93, he was still cooking, cleaning and mowing the lawn (and his neighbor’s lawn, too!) for himself. Continue reading

The Inlet Barnstormers Snowmobile Club hosted its annual Poker Run on Friday and Saturday, January 22 and 23.

First place winner of $300 was James Bagetta of Boston Lake, NY; second place winner of $200 was Jim Schanz of Guilderland, NY; and third place winner of $100 was Steve Krauss of Westchester, PA. Continue reading
