Inlet Youth Commission says thanks for help with Halloween Party

The Inlet Youth Commission’s annual party on Friday, October 30 started down Main Street behind Inlet Volunteer Hose Company’s R25 to the beat of “Monster Mash” from Medic 2.

After parading through town everyone went to the IVES building where emcee Mitch Lee (The Roman) gathered the participants in groups to parade for Judges Margie O’Hara (Ms Grim), MaryAnn Ryan (Mrs. Meany) and Nancy Jennings (Miss Cackle.) Continue reading

Kinderwood program thankful for golf tournament support

The Kinderwood Board would like to thank everyone that either played in our tournament, attended the dinner/auction or donated auction items or sponsored a tee or cart sign. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Our mission statement reads “The Kinderwood Program is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the  cognitive, affective and practical developmental needs of preschool children in the Central Adirondacks.” With your help we are able to maintain our 3- and 4-year-old programs. Jan Knudsen: Call her Mrs. Lucky

Jan from Woodgate, aka Mrs. Lucky, completed her 56-year earthly journey on Tuesday, November 10th.

Plans for the trek began January 5 of this year following a terminal cancer diagnosis.

Her response to a doctor’s recommendation for treatment was, “No thank you.”

She scoffed at his suggestion that she had one to two months left without it… there were still a few things she had to do. Continue reading
