Many activities are planned in October for those who enjoy the Senior Health Activities & Recreation Program (SHARP) at Niccolls Church in Old Forge.
On October 7, we will have a Craft and Hobby Day. All are invited to share their craftwork and hobbies with the group. Chair exercises will also be offered. Continue reading
It is with deep gratitude and appreciation that we extend our heartfelt THANKS to the many family and friends who supported The Dave Park Memorial Scholarship event held on Saturday, September 12 at our house.
Many memories were shared and great fun and fellowship was had by all. We even survived the downpour! See you next year!

The firefighters’ parade up Main Street is always a highlight of the Old Forge Fire Department’s annual Drill School, with hordes of spectators lining the street to watch participants in their dress uniforms march along with their department’s fire-fighting apparatus. Continue reading

The students enrolled in the Kinderwood class for four year olds took a field trip into town to pick apples at the apple tree on Crosby Blvd. next to St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 23rd.
In a decades-long tradition, the children gather the apples and make applesauce when they return to their classroom.
Thank you to the players and supporters of the Food & Beverage Open at Thendara Golf Club on Tuesday, September 8 that benefitted the Polar Bear Ski Club.
The 15th annual golf tournament, traditionally held the day after Labor Day, was founded as an opportunity for those associated with the food service business to participate in some golf play following the busy summer season. Continue reading
Glenn Faber of Syracuse shot a hole-in-one at the Inlet Golf Club on Wednesday, September 16th.
He scored the ace on the 11th hole—a 148-yard, par 3 hole—using an 8-iron.
