Open Letter to Inlet Property Owners

To Inlet Property Owners:

This is to notify all property owners that the Town of Inlet will be starting the 16-week  Black Fly Control Program for the 2014 season which runs approximately from March 15 through July 31, 2014.

A non-chemical product (Vectobac-12AS) will be administered to all fast-flowing streams in an 18 square mile radius of the Town of Inlet during this time period.

Polar Bear Youth Nordic Team races in Paintball Marathon at Dewey Mtn.

Members of the Polar Bear Youth Nordic Ski Team participated in a Paintball Biathlon Race at Dewey Mountain in Saranac Lake on Saturday, March 1st. The results of the race are as follows:

U8 Girls

U14 Alpine Polar Bears race at NY State Championships

The U14 Alpine Polar Bears competed in the NY State Championships held at Windham Mountain Resort on Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9th. Giant Slalom races were held on Saturday and Super G races were held on Sunday.

Local service planned for Sharon ‘Sherry’ Grimm, 72

Sharon (Sherry) L. Grimm, 72, of Inlet peacefully passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday, February 26, 2014 with her family by her side.

She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Florence Esse. She is survived by her children Steve (Michele) Grimm, Erik (Susan) Grimm, and Heidi (Doug) Powell Grimm; sisters Debra Selvek and Virginia Reinholtz; and her grandchildren Joel, Kyle, and triplets Alexander, Bradley and Colten; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Sherry, born on December 17, 1942, moved to her home in Inlet in 1997 after retiring from the Greece Central School District where she was a middle school teacher.  Continue reading
