Town Board changes rates for next McCauley Mtn. ski season
With 2014–15 Season’s Passes set to go on sale next week at McCauley Mountain, the Town of Webb Board discussed whether it was advisable to adjust the ski area’s rates to reflect regional changes to industry costs.
The Board on a recommendation from McCauley manager Steve Uzdavinis, examined lift prices for Snow Ridge, Woods Valley, and Royal Mountain as comparable ski areas to McCauley. Continue reading
Card of thanks
I want to thank all of you for the sympathy cards, phone calls, mass cards, flowers, and kind words that I received in Florida after my loss of Ivan. Although they brought tears to my eyes, they also brought me much comfort knowing that so many of you were thinking of me.

Legion Post 893 says thank you
American Legion Post 893 would like to extend our most sincere thanks to the Central Adirondack Association for allowing us to participate in Snofest 2014.
We would also like to recognize our super hosts: Mike Farmer, Laurie Barkauskas, David Etsen and Sandy Booton.
The first place winner of our raffle was Forrest Tayler of Watertown and second place winner was Jim Heitz of New Hampshire.
We would also like to thank all those who participated in our Wounded Warrior Drive. It was a huge success.
Snofest ’14 lives up to its name with perfect weather conditions
Having enough snow to showcase the activities related to the annual Snofest in Old Forge is always a concern for sponsoring organization Central Adirondack Association when planning the event from year to year.
But this season’s extremely cold temperatures kept the ground covered in white, assuring that folks who came to town on March 7, 8, and 9 to get a first look at 2015 snowmobile gear and test drive the sleds they hope to be riding next winter, would not be disappointed. Continue reading
Old Forge Water District receives New York State health recognition
The Old Forge Water District has received a Fluoridation Quality Award for its commitment in providing optimally fluoridated water to Webb residents.
The recognition was given by the New York State Department of Health (DOH) on behalf of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Continue reading
Webb Recreation Department finalizing indoor soccer installation
The Town Board, having approved the measure on Monday, February 3, has begun installment of an indoor soccer facility at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street.
Jason Perkins, Town of Webb Recreation director, said as of now, providing everything goes as planned, the field will be up and running and available for use next week.
A number of volunteers have helped all week long, having laid down more than half the turf and hung two of the six sections of netting. Continue reading
