Jason Landl graduates with military honors

Airman Jason Michael Landl graduated with honors from Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX on Friday, October 18, 2013. On Thursday, October 17, he received his official Airman Coin in recognition of his transition from civilian trainee to “Airman.”OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

At a special coin ceremony, Jason received the “Honor Coin” which signified his placement in the top 10 percent of the graduating class of over 630 Airmen, in both his academic and physical test scores.

For the next 13 weeks, he will remain at Lackland AFB and receive Technical Training before moving on to his career goals in the United States Air Force.

Woodgate Harvest Supper set Saturday, November 2

A Roast Pork Harvest Supper will be held Saturday, November 2 at the White Otter Fish and Game Club on Woodgate Rd. in Woodgate.

Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will continue until approximately 7:30 p.m.

The cost is $10 for adults, $7 for children ages six to 12, and free for kids ages five and under.

Proceeds from the supper will support White Otter Fish and Game Club activities including youth sponsorship to DEC summer camp and improvements to the club shooting range.

New CTS vehicle made possible by combined community efforts

Several area organizations have collaborated to assist Community Transportation Services (CTS) with getting their new vehicle into service this month.

When it became apparent that the 2005 CTS passenger van was coming to the end of its use, CAP-21 was able to obtain a $14,000 grant through The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc.

In addition to the grant, Adirondack Bank committed $5,000 from its Charity Golf Classic and the Town of Webb Health Center Fund, Inc. provided an additional $2,500 in funds.  Continue reading
