The Board of the Com-m-unity Transportation Services, Ltd., (CTS) would like to thank the individuals, organizations, churches and municipalities for their contributions to CTS.

Community Transportation Service seeks volunteer drivers

The Community Transportation Services, Ltd. (CTS) is in need of volunteers to drive seniors or others seeking transportation to medical and other appointments.

Volunteers must have good driving records, and can drive when their schedule permits.  Drivers are especially needed during winter and spring.

Vehicles are located in Old Forge, Inlet, Indian Lake and Lake Pleasant. CTS is a neighbor-helping-neighbor service.

Anyone interested in serving as a driver in the Old Forge/Inlet area can call (315) 369-2830, and for the Indian Lake/Lake Pleasant area, call (518) 648-5911.

New CTS vehicle made possible by combined community efforts

Several area organizations have collaborated to assist Community Transportation Services (CTS) with getting their new vehicle into service this month.

When it became apparent that the 2005 CTS passenger van was coming to the end of its use, CAP-21 was able to obtain a $14,000 grant through The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc.

In addition to the grant, Adirondack Bank committed $5,000 from its Charity Golf Classic and the Town of Webb Health Center Fund, Inc. provided an additional $2,500 in funds.  Continue reading
