Ten students from the Town of Webb High School were inducted as new members of the Hadarondah Chapter of the National Honor Society in a ceremony held at the school on Tuesday, October 29th.
Members were selected for meeting high standards of scholarship—achieving a GPA of 90 and above—service, leadership, citizenship, and character.
Students inducted were: Allyson Cooper, John Gaffney, Connor Glasser, Megan Greene, Westley Lamphear, Olivia Phaneuf, Nicole Redpath, Melissa Rockhill, Rebecca Sessions, and Kelsey Simpson.
They join the existing membership of nine students: Allyson Brosemer, Brianna Brownsell, Ashley Fallon, William Johnson, Mackenzie Kelly, Tyler McGough, Melissa Murphy, Samantha Notley, Morgan Payne and Ashley Fallon.
Fallon, who is a new student this year, came from Adirondack High School where she was already an NHS member.
“We are very proud to recognize these outstanding members of our student body. We look to the new inductees to become involved and to continue to demonstrate those outstanding qualities that resulted in their selection,” said Kandis Griffin, NHS chapter advisor.
Each year the chapter sponsors several service projects for the school and community.
The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for students.
Chapters exist in more than 6,000 schools and, since 1929, millions of students have been selected for membership.
NHS is sponsored nationally by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP.)
