McCauley: Citizens Downhill Race raises over $1,000 for KYAC

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks, with assistance by the McCauley Mountain Ski Patrol, sponsored the 5th Annual KYAC Citizens Downhill Ski Race at McCauley Mountain on Saturday, March 16.

Sixty-two skiers of all ages competed in the race which raised over $1,000 for the Kommunity Youth Activity Center (KYAC) in Old Forge.

Winners in their age groups were:

Girls Ages 7 to 10: 1st – Justine Draper; 2nd – Ella Friedel, 3rd – Abigail Draper

Boys 7 to 10: 1st – Thomas Jost, 2nd – Danny Friedel, 3rd – Matthew Jost

Girls 11 to 14: 1st – Adrianna Draper

Boys 11 to 14: 1st – Daniel Atik, 2nd – Charlie Uzdavinis, 3rd – Joe Munda

Boys 15 to 18: 1st – Corey Down, 2nd – Austin Down, 3rd – West Tickner

Women 19 to 30: 1st – Emily Schweitzer, 2nd – Courtney Holt, 3rd – Carly Koll

Men 19 to 30: 1st – Daniel Heroux, 2nd – Cory Bradbury, 3rd – Mike Hameline

Women 31 to 45: 1st – Maureen McCarthy Tracy, 2nd – Christine Prichard, 3rd – Amy Osha Peruzzi

Men 31 to 45: 1st – John Tracy, 2nd – John Draper, 3rd – Zachary Wasielewski

Women 46 and over: 1st – Annette Mahoney, 2nd – Diane Gaige, 3rd – Diane Heroux

Men 46 and over: 1st – Charlie Chandler, 2nd – Casey Crofut, 3rd – CJ Kalil

Fastest overall women’s winner was Emily Schweitzer with a time of 93.45 and fastest men’s overall was Corey Down with a time of 84.77. Schweitzer has been fastest woman four out of the last five years of this race.
