The inaugural Adirondack Kids Day™, a day-long event that will celebrate the outdoor activities described on the pages of the Adirondack Kids series of books, will be held at various locations throughout Inlet on Saturday, October 6.

The event is inspired by the best-selling book series by Gary and Justin VanRiper, whose characters were born in Inlet.

“Inlet is the epicenter for the series, right there on the Fulton Chain, and we look forward to sharing our first-hand personal experiences with young readers and their families,” Gary said.

This fun-filled family day will feature 20 authors and illustrators, a fishing derby, paddling and hiking instructions, a special Adirondack Kids stamp cancellation, and plenty of other activities.

All events are free of charge and co-sponsored by The Adirondack Reader and the  Town of Inlet, with major sponsorship by the Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks.

Adirondack Kids Day kicksoff at 10 a.m. at The Adirondack Reader where the Van Ripers will offer an official welcome  and orientation about the day’s events.
