The Women’s Fellowship Group of Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church held their annual Fashions by the Lake luncheon and bake sale on Wednesday, July 18 at the North Woods Inn.

This year’s fashion show theme was “Shake It Up” which, according to Church Secretary, Mary Brophy-Moore, was to help inspire and encourage people to stay active and get moving every day as part of a healthy lifestyle commitment, while looking stylish in local fashions.

Ruth Brussel and Kathy Queen were this year’s fashion coordinators who were assisted by Betsy McCulloch, Karen Mitchell and Linda Bamberger and commentator Kitty Blind to help bring in 97 guests who made this year’s event a success.

Inspired by the “Shake It Up” theme, all proceeds raised by this event will be divided between the American Diabetes Association and the Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks (HASCA).

During the luncheon, 40 area women modeled fashions from 19 local shops. Door prizes donated by sponsors of the event were given away during the show.

“We had quite a few new models this year, some who have not modeled before. They were all wonderful and did a great job. We also had a few shops that are new in town display their clothing as well,” Brophy-Moore said.
