Inlet Historical Society to host program

Mitch Lee will present a living history program, Prelude to Oriskany, which will describe the 1777 campaign in the Mohawk Valley, at the Inlet Town Hall on Wednesday, July 25 at 7 p.m.

The presentation will tell the story of the St. Leger Campaign from Fort Ontario in Oswego to the siege of Fort Stanwix in Rome and the Battle of Oriskany.

The power point discussion will be held in anticipation of the largest Revolutionary War Reenactment to be held in America this year at Gelston Castle Estate on Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5.

Gelston Castle is located just minutes south of the village of Mohawk on Route 28.

The program is free of charge and sponsored by the Inlet Historical Society.

Memberships and raffle tickets for an authentic Navajo Rug will be available for purchase at the door.
