Central Adirondack Kiwanis sponsors 3rd Annual Paddle Classic

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks will host the 3rd Annual Kiwanis Old Forge Paddle Classic on Saturday, June 30th. There will be two races departing from the Town of Webb Navigation Dock in Old Forge Pond.

The first is a six-mile race from the Old Forge lakefront to Treasure Island on First Lake and back. The second race is a 12- mile race from the Lakefront to Alger Island on Fourth Lake and back.

Registration will take place at the Hemmer Cottage on South Shore Road between 7:30 and 8:50 a.m. the day of the event. Racers will depart at 9 a.m.

There will be a registration fee of $25 per adult racer and $10 per child aged 10 and under.

The race will be followed by an awards ceremony and barbeque on the lawn at Hemmer Cottage.

Central Adirondack Search & Rescue Team (CASART) will provide a Command Post and assist with communications throughout the race.

Central Adirondack Kiwanis Past President Sheila Brady and Treasurer Bill Baumann are chairpersons for this event.

They will be assisted by Kiwanis Members Doc Foley and Bob Teesdale as well as Deke Morrison.
