Rosy’s Random Review:

School is almost over and the temperature is rising. To me, it already feels like summer.

I was trying to find a good place to visit that isn’t too far away, but would get you away from town and your daily routine. You know, a good place to escape to if you work a lot in the summer and need a break.

Then I discovered Garnet Hill Lodge in North Creek. I went there myself, and I have to say: Beautiful!

The scenery is gorgeous, and the lodge itself is so cute! There is a game room and extra activities you can do that are free of charge, like hiking, canoeing, and bike riding. There’s also a restaurant on site with daily specials.

I met one of the new owners, Mindy Piper, and she was very nice. I have to say, they have done a wonderful job with it so far. It’s only about an hour and a half away, so check it out!

Dear Rosy RoX,

Okay, it’s my dad’s birthday. What do I get him? A. Person in Old Forge

Dear A. Person,

Considering I don’t know anything about your dad, I can’t give you an exact answer. Just get him something that goes along with activities he likes, or something he is passionate about. And it doesn’t even matter if it is a small gift.

For instance, if he likes golfing, get him golf balls.

Or if he likes candy, maybe a big bag of his favorite candy.

You’ll be surprised how the simplest of things can make your father happy. As long as it’s something you got for him yourself, it doesn’t really matter.

Tell your dad I said, Happy Birthday!
