Pennsylvania services held for Dean Lobb, 83

Richard Dean “Sox” Lobb, 83 of Pen Argyl, PA passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the former Clementine M. “Tina” Armelin. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on July 1st.

Born in Bangor, PA, August 26, 1928, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Olive (Beck) Lobb. Prior to retiring in 1985, Sox was employed as a truck driver for Matlack Trucking, prior to that he was employed by Alpha Cement, Silver Line Trucking and Fiorot Trucking.

After retiring, he and his wife Tina owned and operated the Big Moose Station in Big Moose. Later he worked part time for A. Scott Enterprise and Nolin Perin.He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Pen Argyl and Teamsters Local # 773, Allentown, and was a 1946 graduate of Pen Argyl High School.

In addition to his wife Tina, he is survived by two sons, Steven D. Lobb and his wife Patricia of Charlottesville, VA, and David A. Lobb and his wife Diane of Belfast; a daughter, Theresa “Terry” Fitzpatrick and her husband Thomas of Glenn Dale, MD; eight grandchildren and fivegreat grandchildren.

A son Dean E. Lobb preceded him in death on May 3, 1980.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 14 at the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home of Pen Argyl, PA.
