Forestport artist Stephen Fletcher has spent much of his life entertaining regional audiences with his musical, conversational and artistic talents.

Fletcher’s artwork will be the focus of a celebration at Gallery 3040 on Saturday, August 22 from 4 to 7 p.m.

On display will be original paintings and prints, with many of his original works available for sale.

Fletcher will be on hand to sign prints and answer questions from the public.

The festivities will include live music, food and drinks.

According to Gallery 3040 owner Linda Weal, Fletcher’s work differs from that of traditional Adirondack artists and often captures the region’s human inhabitants and their behaviors.

“Although he states that the forests of upstate NY are his muse, he paints the “other side” of the mountains. Sad, funny, sarcastic, tragic and heartwarming tales all find their way into the creative brush strokes,” Weal said.

Fletcher studied fine art at Munson, Williams, Proctor Art Institute.

He has sold his paintings worldwide and has had several solo shows as well as collaborative showings with other artists.
